Howdy younz all, greetings from Texas.  Well another Thanksgiving approaches, number 78 for most of us, and I want to wish everyone a Happy, Love filled, and family full of fun and love Thanksgiving.  Growing up in New Ken and attending Ken Hi are certainly part of my many blessings and I hope yours also.  Hopefully we will have a few more years to celebrate and remember with fondness those of us who are no longer with us.  Take care!  Wayne

Wayne, thank you for all your good wishes to our classmates! I hope you and your family a holiday of thanks for our many blessings! In these difficult times it can be difficult to focus on the positive. I am grateful for the many foundational experiences we had in high school! And today I will be grateful for family and friends! I wish good health and peace to all of our classmates!  Warm wishes, Jackie Oliver Cohen.

Hi there classmates

Here we are coming to the end of another year that we are blessed to be here. We have lost many classmates so we have to be grateful and full of gratitute. I continue to be as active as possible playing water volleyball at the New Ken YMCA twice a week. Don't get too excited, our group is not so good but at least we're moving and mostly laughing at our mistakes. I also volunteer packing 205 lunches each week for the little school children in the New Ken area for the weekend. There are many low income families here in New Ken and Arnold school district.

I want to wish you all a wondeful Christmas and a Blessed New Year. Be careful we're supposed to get some crazy, bitter cold weather with snow and ice this weekend!

With love....Jackie Anderson Donley

FELIZ NAVIDAD!  For those of who don't know, I worked for Jose Feliciano back in the 70's, thus this song always reminds me of Christmas in LA!  Another year has gone by without a mini reunion, but there is always next year, God willing.  Since I am still working full time in advertising sales, the time just got away from me.  I'm leaving for my 2 month jaunt to Florida mid January, but I will try and pull something together next summer.  If we don't have your current address, email and/or phone number, please send that to me directly to update the list.  ypelino@gmail.com.  I do want to wish all of you, the Lord's blessing upon you and your children, and your children's children for a very Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah and a Healthy Happy New Year!!

Looking forward to seeing you at our Big 60th !

Went to the Class of 1962's reunion with Patty Drew and it was great !  I highly recommend Bermuda for our reunion !  It's lovely outside with a huge fire pit for evening! Daytime you can go inside or out or both ! Food was good and servers were great !  Just a thought !

Hello classmates !  How about a couple small world stories. Sometime in 1966 I ran into classmate Janet ? In the Big Giant food store in Norfolk, Va .  My apologies to her for not being able to recall her last name, I was in the Navy stationed at NAS Oceana in Va Bch. We spoke for a few minutes, I think she said her husband was stationed there.

Then in the late 70s I was passing thru the Regan airport in DC and ran into Tom Hart.  We passed headed to our flights, I believe he said he was working with a law firm in DC.

Anybody else have any coincidences ?

Hope everybody is doing well, and that we can put together a mini reunion this Sept.

Bill Baker

Howdy classmates.  Just a quick note, many of you will remember Sandi Meanor, class of 64 and former head majorette.  Sorry to inform she passed away just a day or 2 ago.  She lived in Charlotte, Iowa.  Was married initially to Tom "Twig" Branch and they had 2 daughters.  She was a dietician by training, but unfortunately suffered and fought bravely against esophageal scleroderma for about the last 15 years.  May her soul rest in eternal peace!

Bill Baker posted some chance encounters on this forum and asked if any of us had similar occurrences.  I certainly did one time many years ago.  From 1967-69 I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Nigeria.  On one occasion I made a "safari/trip" across Africa with a friend to Kenya.  Since we had little money, we hitch hiked a lot and took local buses!  On one such bus ride, which was full of Masai men, I noticed another obvious white man in the bus.  Upon speaking he turned out to be another PC volunteer who had attended Juniata College in PA.  And unbelievably had been Bob Gray's roommate.  Bob and I grew up together on Earl Ave. in Valley Heights!.  Now, how about any one else with neat stories!!!

So so sorry to hear about Sandra Meanor.  She was special and fun to be with.  Her parents were great and she lived up the street from Bill Baker and I.  Bill your small world experiences question is great.  i am sure I have some.  Memory at 77 cloudy but Wayne that was a good one.  OK, one that comes to mind.  I was in a bar in Scottsdale AZ in the early 90s with my brother who lives in Scottsdale.  The bartender knew my brother was from Pittsburgh area and said their is a guy at the end of the bar from your area.  I walked to the end of the bar to meet him and it was one of my best friends, Dick Ames.

To Bill Baker,

With regard to your encounters, the first sounds like it may have been with Janice Twigger.  She left Geneva College in Jan of '64 and married a student also from Geneva.  He shortly enlisted in the Navy and from what I understand, she was working in the Norfolk area for awhile.  Move forward to about '68 or '69.  My younger brother is stationed in Norfolk.  He's checking in at the airport to fly home on leave.  The ticket agent sees his last name and asks if he is related to a "Russ Baranowski".  When my brother says yes, the agent identified herself as Janice Twigger.  Talk about a small world.

HOLD ON TO YOUR HAT - SAVE THE DATE - LET'S HAVE A PARTY!!!  Plan to attend our 60th YEAR REUNION on Sept.15, 2023 at the VFW in LowerBurrell.  It will be informal, casual, and essentially free!  Cash bar and order off the menu.  If there is a charge for the room, we will ask everyone for a small donation to cover the cost.  Time frame 5:00PM till 10:00 PM or there about.  Please spread the word to classmates you know!  We are also planning a golf outing/scramble for that morning if there is enough interest.  No registration, but it would be helpful to know who will attend and if you are interested in golf.  Please notify me or Yvonne Pelino of your intentions.  My email is wesdo77@aol.com and CP 817-689-8640,  Yvonne is ypelino@gmail.com and CP 561-307-4177. This is it folks,  those of us fortunate to still be here are obviously pushing 80, how many more chances do we have.  And you can also reply on this site.  So spread the news, emails, phone calls, snail mail, facebook, twitter, TikTok and however else you can think will work.  More details and updates will follow, but we all need to work together to be successful.  I hope younz'all have a great coming year and hope to see you in Sept.  Wayne

Howdy younz'all.  I hope everyone is enjoying their day.  It is Feb 22, which means our 60th Class reunion/get together is less than 7 months away.  Please save the date and let Yvonne or me know your intentions.  I will post on this message forum regularly to remind everyone and pertinent info will be posted here.  To date, I have received 5 -FIVE positive responses.  So that means, with the other people I know will be there, we have 11 attendees to date..  Obviously it is still early but we certainly hope that a lot more will attend.  Contact info for Yvonne and me is posted in earlier messages in this forum.  So, all the best, stay safe and keep in touch and SPREAD THE WORD to your friends and classmates.  I.E. post on your face book accounts, twitter, etc.  Word of mouth is very helpful!  Cheers, Wayne

Hello classmates, I really would love to attend this remarkable 60th reunion. Unfortunately, even as I emailed you, Wayne, last September, requesting that you take into consideration the dates of the high Jewish holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, both in September, you have scheduled the reunion on the first night of Rosh Hashanah. A previous reunion was scheduled on Yom Kippur; I therefore requested your kind consideration for this occasion. Sadly, I will not attend. Jackie Oliver Cohen
