Oops, I loaded the pix twice, But since I didn't add the story line, I will add it now.  While in Tyler we shared some time and breakfast with Classmate Bob Kautzman who lives near Long view, TX.  Bob is also retired after a long career working in the chemical industry in Houston.

Howdy all.  I unfortunately have some sad news to share, our classmate Angela Redding Reiter Hill passed away a few days ago after a protracted battle with lymphoma.  She died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.  Her second husband, Ron Hill passed away suddenly just over a year ago.  He was a class of 64 Ken Hi grad also.  Her services will be this coming weekend, Dec20/21 at Restland Funeral home in Dallas, TX.  May her soul rest in eternal peace!

Thank you for letting us know, Wayne. I didn't realize that Angela had lymphoma. So sad to lose another of our classmates.

Howdy Yinz'all,  Just a quick note from sunny California.  Harry (Buzzy) Woloson, Tom Orszulak and yours truly enjoying a round of golf at the Sandpiper Golf Course in Santa Barbara.  Unfortunately Fred Grau was unable to attend this time.

Great picture of old friends golfing.

Great view of the ocean.

Great view of the golf course.

That's all nice, but WHAT WERE THE SCORES ?????

We want to know WHAT WERE THE SCORES ?????

John, As you might imagine, the scores have kept pace with our IQ's - keep going up.  So in light of our rising IQ's we have gotten smarter and now play a scramble and yes we are scratch scramblers! (Almost!)

John Sopko

Ok.  Now I got it.  You guys really don't play golf.  You walk around the course and take great pictures.  Then you go to the local diner and have scramblers with toast and coffee.  Indeed you have gotten a lot smarter.  Thanks for clearing it up for us.  I will never ask about the scores again.

On  this special day of Rememberance, Memorial Day 2025, I would like to share with you this painting of Squadron 17 of the Texas A&M Corp of Cadets.  My grandson Gabriel is a proud member of the squadron and was honored to serve as it's CO this past year.    The unit serves as a living memorial to the Challenger Space Shuttle that tragically blew up on launch in 1986 and is known as the Challenger SQ.  It also honors the Apollo1 and Columbia missions that ended tragically.  The painting depicts the unit marching in review with obvious reverence to the Shuttle missions and Apollo1, and to the horrible Aggie Bonfire that claimed the lives of 12 students in 1999.  May their souls rest in eternal peace.

Howdy classmates.  The current plan is to have a mini informal reunion on OCT1 at the VFW in Lower Burrell from 1800-2100.  No reservations, and no charge - just your own food and drinks.  Bring you spouse, lover, friend, kids, etc.  Tell everyone you know who might be interested.  We are all 80 or pushing it, so let's giter done!  Let us know if your planning to come so we have an approximate head count.  Hope to see you there.  Wayne.  Wesdo77@aol.com or 817-689-8640

Howdy All, just a reminder for you to SAVE THE DATE and come!!  To our Class 0f 63 informal mini reunion on OCT1 at 1800 at the VFW in Lower Burrell.  WE are now 62 years out, who woulda thunk it!  So if you can, come on out ,  We don't have too many of these left!.  Come as you are!!!  We are all old and wish we looked like we did 50 or 60 years ago, but that's not happening.  So loose your inhibitions and come visit with your old friends and reminisce and share your memories and life stories.

Once again, the powers that be have scheduled this mini reunion on a Jewish religion high holiday, Yom Kippur, in spite of my repeated request that consideration be given to the two fall Jewish high holidays, Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Yom Kippur is a day of atonement that begins at sundown on October 1 and ends at sundown on October 2; it is a day of reflection, prayer, and fasting.
As Wayne said, we are aging and who knows how many more of these events may be held, or that we will be capable of traveling to. I regretfully will not attend again this year as my family observes the Jewish high holidays.

Just a quick reminder for those who might be interested and in the area.  There will be a gathering of "63" classmates at the VFW in Lower Burrell on OCT1 starting at 1800.  This is not a major production, it is obvious we are done with those, but very casual and informal.  Pretty much a last chance to meet and greet and spread the "bull"!   Tom Orszulak, Harry Woloson, and I will be in town to to attempt to play a little golf with Fred Grau as we have done for the past 15 or so years.  Hope to see you at the VFW!

Well our time together in New Ken has come and gone.  Hopefully some of us will have another chance in a couple of years and we will try again.  Those of us there enjoyed sharing our lives and memories.  We all wished more people attended, but ancient bodies and health played a role in several last minute cancellations.  Attendees included Karen Lohr Petrarca, wido of  Jim Petrarca, John  Sopko, George Rotter and wife Donna, Alvin Zito, Walter "Skip" Baker, Tom Orszulak,  Fred Grau and wife Cindy, Richard Prinkey and his wife Cheryl, and yours truly.  Please spread the word around to classmates in your circle of friends about this website, it is a wonderful way to keep in touch.  Cheers and all the best!  Wayne
